A new report by the National Association of Home Builders, a trade group representing builders, suggests cities are looking for more than just decorative ideas for their own home décor.
The report says a growing number of people in the U.S. want to buy and renovate their own homes.
The group expects the demand for new home décolors will grow to about $8 billion in 2020.
The report also notes that, despite the popularity of home decorating products, many people don’t know what they want or need to decorate their homes.
“In addition to being able to have a home-style decor that is personalized, we’re also looking for products that are affordable and can be delivered to our homes,” says Andrew Schoettl, president of the association.
The survey also looked at how Americans have used the internet to purchase new home decor.
The report found a high percentage of Americans have been using the internet in some form to purchase and renovating their homes, but the majority have not made the purchase.
Only 27% of those surveyed have purchased a home decorator, and 18% have bought an online home decor store.
The study found that a higher percentage of respondents had bought their homes from someone else than from a local business, and that a larger percentage of those buying from a business had an existing home that was not being renovated.
According to the report, consumers who have purchased from a website like Zillow.com are more likely to be renovating a home, as compared to people who have bought from a home retailer like Home Depot or Lowe’s.
The report also said that more people have been ordering new home furnishings than remodeling their existing homes.
